Today Grace had a “movement disorder study,” where they shocked her a bit (not much, ’bout like an electric fence, said the doctor :-/ ), then an “EEG” where they glued 20 electrodes to her head. Yes, of course I took pictures of this.

Met with Dr. Pittock for a bit for summary and treatment recommendation. Dr. Pittock confirmed previous findings that this is an auto-immune disorder with cause unknown, and suggested an aggressive treatment of IVIG over the next 12 weeks for starters, as neurologists at Mayo and Children’s continue to work together. Her response to the 12 week treatment will determine the next step.

We are ready to be home, as no one even understands “unsweet tea” here.

Point of clarification: Nurse “Luke” was not dressed in Star Wars garb, but we recognized him just the same, especially with the force so evident. 🙂

So, again, we thank you for your prayers, your posts, your constant encouragement. We are grateful for the opportunity to come to Mayo Clinic, praying that God will use this place to bless and heal many.
